PCN Mental Health Support Group
The group provides a welcoming, friendly, and non-judgemental setting where patients can come together to engage with support, information and practical help and techniques to help manage their mental health and wellbeing.
Each session covers a range of topics and follows structured steps designed to provide useful information and practical techniques that you can use in everyday life. Alongside this, the group offers the opportunity to connect with others and benefit from the encouragement and support of the group.
When and where?
The group meets in 4-6 week programmes on Thursday afternoons at Townfield Medical Centre, and is open to patients from across the member PCN practices (Paxton Medical Group, Heatherlands Medical Centre, Townfield Medical Centre, Prenton Medical Centre). Our next group programme begins on Thursday 15th October and will provide support and education for those who have had an adverse childhood experience (ACE). The sessions will include education-based presentations and discussions along with emotional and practical support.
How can I attend?
If you would like to register for your place on the next group, please contact your member practice and ask for a task to be sent to our Mental Health Social Prescribers. One of our team will then get in touch with you for a friendly, welcoming chat and register you for the group.
You don’t have to face things alone — our Mental Health Support Group is here to offer information, practical support, guidance, and a safe space to connect with others.
